KIDS SEWING CLASSES Ages 8-10 & 11-13 (NEW, UPPER EAST SIDE LOCATION)
Sew New York now offers small private classes for 1-2 children, ages 8-10 &11-13. Kids have a great time learning how to sew FUN projects. For more information you can read the class description and class times we are offering for Beginner I and Beginner II levels.
We now have two locations for the kids classes, our main location in Brooklyn Heights on Livingston Street and our new location on the Upper East Side, at 92nd Street and 2nd Avenue.
DESCRIPTION OF CLASSES: Each session for Beginner I & Beginner II consists of 6 classes and the classes are 1 1/2 hr.
BEGINNER'S I: Appropriate for ages 8-10. This class is designed for the new beginner. In this series the student will learn how to use the sewing machine, how to hand stitch, they'll learn to pin, cut and baste fabric. Sewing will teach them hand and eye coordination, as well as hand dexterity. The projects are all FUN and simple. For example some of the projects they get to sew are: a cute pin cushion, during the winter months they get to make a pair of mittens, there is a choice of two different tote bags and more. You can view some of these creations by looking at the rotating photo's to the right side of this page.
BEGINNER'S II: Appropriate for ages 8-10. This class is a bit more advanced. The student now knows how to use the sewing machine and can sew by hand. So in this series the projects are a bit more advanced and take a bit more time. They will get to sew lounge pajamas, make an apron and perhaps a simple skirt. CLASS DAYS AND TIMES: All classes are held after school at 4pm
CLASSES AT THE BROOKLYN HEIGHTS LOCATION- Classes are held on Mondays, and Wednesdays
CLASSES AT THE UPPER EAST SIDE LOCATION: Classes are held Mondays through Fridays

SEWING CLASSES FOR KIDS, taught by NANCY JAZVO- Nancy is a former understudy and intern for Laura McCracken at Sew New York. She is also a former student from FIT. Her excellent skills and patience are a great asset for teaching children how to use the sewing machine as well to help them acquire hand coordination and dexterity.

RATES FOR KIDS SEWING CLASSES:
Each session of 6 classes is $360, plus a $15 materials fee. The kids classes fill quickly, if you don't get in we have a waiting list, just email Nancy@sewny.com and she will add your name. Classes are 1 1/2hr.
